Hello and welcome!

Hi there!

My name is Michelle, I’m the founding director of Strider Myotherapy.

Welcome to my first blog post! I’m aiming to use this to share health information, ideas to create a healthy lifestyle, talk about the benefits of myotherapy, importance of staying active and all other topics!

Here is a brief introduction about myself.

I completed my certificate in massage therapy in 2016 and loved it so much that I went onto complete my Diploma in Remedial Massage in 2017. I’ve been a Remedial massage therapist for almost 5 years and now a newly graduated Myotherapist (completing my qualification in Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy in 2021). I own and run my small business from Four Seasons Wellness Centre in Abbotsford.

I’ve been in the health care industry for over 11 years now, working as a registered nurse. I’ve always been passionate about helping and empowering people to take control of their lives and their health, one of the main reasons why I became a nurse. I’ve worked in various areas of nursing both in the hospital and community settings, in both public and private sector.

What really drives me is providing people with knowledge, as knowledge is power! I help people create and unleash the best versions of themselves.

I’m a firm believer in being pro-active, rather than reactive!

That prevention has a more profound impact on your life and health.

As a nurse I care for patients with complex chronic health conditions, most of which are preventable conditions. If addressed earlier, these chronic conditions could have been delayed or prevented entirely, by either implementing early changes to lifestyle, healthier eating habits, behaviour and mindset.

This notion of being pro-active, was the main thing that influenced me to find another career path in health care. I wanted to combine my nursing knowledge and experience and help guide people to achieve freedom to do what they love most in life.

That’s when my massage therapy journey began.
